Stiff ankles can cause a lot of the running injuries which occur further up your leg.

Shin pain, knee pain, ITB problems, hip and glute pain and lower back pain can all be caused, or exacerbated, by stiff ankle joints. Especially if one ankle is stiffer than the other.

With some fairly basic equipment ( a high-strength resistance band), and the right knowledge, there is a lot you can do to improve your ankle mobility.
